Glitzy

(available at myfonts.com)

The Glitzy faces are my (fairly early) rendition of a popular Art-Deco style. Many of these Art-Deco styles have interior decoration, and the first of my efforts had the zigzags of Flash, which I thought worked well. The second, Jewel, I thought less effective. I could not find another motif for about two years, until I was playing with Fraktur style fonts. The curl decorations, which I like the best, somehow were inspired by these Fraktur styles.

It was only after these three that I decided that a plain version, with no interior decoration, might be interesting.

In the 19th century a popular style was one in which the serifs where were very fat and the horizontal strokes where very thin. In the early 20th century the opposite style of very thin horizontal strokes and very fat verticals became fashionable. Many of these were sans serif, and some had interior decoration, which becomes very inviting because there are big spaces that can be filled. Most of these styles are associated with the Art Deco movement.
