Porker

(available at myfonts.com and fonts.com)

This is an experiment in making a barely readable but very simple typeface. It turned out to be a fertile design, because I ended up making a lot of variations from it. I did not expect that to happen when I designed it.

As for the name, at the time I was playing with this font design, we bought a pig from a neighbor and had it slaughtered. When we asked him what we owed for the 300 pound pig, he said that the going price was $8 to $10 dollars. I found that stunning, though I had been hearing that the hog farmers were not having a good year. Since nothing else interesting was happening at the time, Porker got stuck onto this fat font. (The pervious hog we had purchased from him cost about $100. The processing plant charges more than that for the services of butchering the pig and processing the meat.)
