This font was imspired by a sign on a SmokeHouse in Gustavus, Alaska. I found the sign because I rented the apartment above the smokehouse during a vacation in 1998. The smokehouse was used to preserve fish, mostly salmon. There is a little river a stone's throw from the smokehouse called the Salmon River, but there are no salmon in it because they were fished out. (Maybe they will be more careful next time.) Gustavus is one of the strangest little "towns" I have ever encountered--it has no structure and the only ways to get to it are by air or water. It occupies some of the only flat land in the panhandle of Alaska, and is the gateway to Glacier Bay National Park.
