The first dingbat font that became widely used on computers was that of Zapf, introduced on the Macintosh sometime in the mid 1980s. When Microsoft finally got Windows to work, they introduced Wingdings. The selection of images above is an alternative rendition of many of the Wingding images. This typeface is called IngyDing. Below is IngyDingTwo. Not shown on these pages are other dingbat fonts I have done such as IngyDingThree and IngyDingLeftovers.
Rain or shine, win or lose, there are dingbats that tell a story. And there are also dingbats that tell nothing at all, such as those from the typeface Textures, shown below.
Textures and patterns can be constructed using typefaces. Can you see possibilities here?
I decided that I did not want my picture fonts spread all over the place, so I put an X in front of all there names. So ComputerBugz is actually XComputerBugz, etc. It makes them all appear down near the bottom of font menus, safely out of the way.
