One of the effects the font distortion program Font-O-Matic promises is the ability to outline a letter. I tried it a couple of times, and found that it took so long to clean up the results into a form that I found acceptable that it would be easier to do it directly in Fontographer. One of few those attempts was MasheenCollege. It worked pretty well in this case because the letters of its base font, Masheen, have no curves in them.
