MasheenFlag

(available at myfonts.com)

A number of the fonts I produced for my last font CD for Wayzata were produced with a font distortion program called Font-O-Matic. Perhaps the most useful of all the effects of Font-O-Matic is the stripe effect. It can cut a font into stripes, with the size and angle of the stripes (mostly) controlled by the user. After I had used this effect on several fonts, I decide that the effect would be far more pleasing if the stripes were contained in an outline of the letter. Since this is not one of the effects Font-O-Matic produced, I needed to rework its output using Fontographer. About one half of my striped fonts on the No-Hype Type CD are fonts with an outline around the stripes, and I think you will find them a more pleasing group than the group that is just stripes.

MasheenFlag does not at first appear to be a striped font. It has had its stripes altered by adding a wave to them. The effect is peculiar, but because it took so much work to accomplish, I only did it once. The parent font was Masheen, a simple, bold font that gave good results with Font-O-Matic.
